Bi-Weekly Student Seminar: Tomas Hreus, "Strangeness production (K0s, Lambda) in the underlying event at CMS"

Understanding the strange particle production in the underlying event (UE) may lead to a better modeling of particle production and of the UE in the pp collisions. I will present first results of the production of strange particles in the UE at 7 TeV with CMS data collected in 2010 and discuss a correlation between scale of hard process and the UE strangeness activity.
