Wherever you come by car from outside the city, the easiest if not the shortest route is:
1. Your route will cross the Brusselss R0 ring road (see map),
2. Take the R0 ring road towards Namur/Namen up to the cross-road with the E411 motorway (Brusselss - Namur/Namen), take the E411 towards Brusselss and stay on the motorway and its prolongation as a speedway as long as you can, i.e. until the speedway ends as a T and you have no alternative than turning left or right (see map),
3. You may choose to turn right in boulevard du Triomphe / Triomflaan, towards gate 6 of the VUB, or turn left in boulevard du Triomphe / Triomflaan and then avenue de la Plaine / Pleinlaan, towards gate 13 pf the VUB (see map).
In both cases you stay on the main dual carriage way road until you reach the gate.

In order to enter the campus with your car and get access to the parking lot, you must communicate your plate number to the secretariats or to your host. Registering a plate in the database can be done within minutes during working hours.

Take the train from the bottom floor of Brussels National Airport towards the city.

1. Step out at “Bruxelles Central / Brussels Centraal”,
2. Take the metro line 5 towards “Herman-Debroux” and stop at  “Delta”
3. Exit from the metro station following the sign ULB-VUB and walk to the Institute.

By train

• If the train stops at “Bruxelles Luxembourg / Brussel Luxemburg”:

1. Take the local train to Etterbeek,
2. Walk to the Institute.

• If the train stops at “Bruxelles Central / Brussel Centraal”:

1. Take the metro line 5 towards “Herman-Debroux” and stop at  “Delta”,
2. Exit from the metro station following the sign ULB-VUB and walk to the Institute

• If not, depending on where you pass first and on the teriminus:

Either

1. Step out at "Bruxelles Midi / Brussel Zuid",
2. Take the metro line 2 towards “Simonis-Elisabeth” and change at “Art-Loi / Kunst-Wet” ,
3. Take the metro line 5 towards “Herman-Debroux” and stop at  “Delta”,
4. Exit from the metro station following the sign ULB-VUB and walk to the Institute.

Or

1. Step out at "Bruxelles Nord/ Brussel Noord",
2. Take the underground tram line 3 towards “Chruchill” or 4 towards “Stalle” and change at “de Brouckere”,
3. Take the metro line 5 towards “Herman-Debroux” and stop at  “Delta”,
4. Exit from the metro station following the sign ULB-VUB and walk to the Institute.
